Minutes of last meeting: Agreed
Matters Arising from the previous meeting:
JR asked the question whether the minutes need to signed off by the chair CR to check
The full report is still confidential but CR gave a general overview.
For Care, Tiggers received the top mark of Very Good. For Education a mark of Generally Good was awarded.
Examples of areas where improvements could be made:
Letters & Sounds although Tiggers do cover this, it was felt that the inspector didnt see it first hand.
Accident Book parents are required to sign the book if an accident is logged
Child Protection Letter the letter that is included in the Welcome pack needs updating CR to do
Everyone felt it went really well but we would have liked more parents to have attended. Some comments were received regarding the amount of time people were standing this was a deliberate action to encourage the attendees to mix.
New Staff
Sarah Manthorpe offered her services at the AGM
Chris Napper Chris is taking on the SENCO and the committee would like to express their thanks to Chris for undertaking this.
Physical Aspects
Risk Assessment CR to organise a risk assessment of the building and grounds. Guidance has been received to aid this and more is to be found from SureStart.
Climbing Frame a working party to be organised to sand, protect and paint the climbing frame. SF to organise a date and volunteers. All materials will be funded and refreshments will be provided in the form of bacon sandwiches.
New Outdoor sandpit concerns were raised by LDS regarding having a low level sandpit that the children can enter rather than a raised one. LDS to speak to Miranda at Learning Through Landscapes to understand the pros and cons of a low level sandpit. CR to arrange membership of Learning Through Landscape. It was suggested that a visit be made to CNs work to view the equipment they have, date of Monday 22nd November suggested.
Dolls House the staff would like to replace the existing dolls house as it is old and only has one opening side. A new one with more openings would be more appropriate as this will encourage sharing and co-operation by the children.
Fund Raising
The Victory Hall has been booked for both the Harry Potter lunch and the xmas party. The cost of the hall is £6 per hour for the fundraising and £10 per hour for the xmas party. The cost of the WI room is extra and will be invoiced for after the event. JB to see if we can get a better idea of the cost beforehand.
Aim of the Harry Potter event is to attract more older children and their parents.
