Minutes of meeting 13th July 2004 at CR’s House
Present : - Caroline Rix, Chris Napper, Julie Turner, Tracy Roberts, Vanessa Oecken, Jayne Jones, James Peck
Staff Induction Packs: new staff induction packs to be produced and handed to staff when the new committee takes over. This will include new contracts, ground rules, appraisal information, disciplinary policies and procedures, job descriptions and duties as well as other relevant information.
Stakeholder Pension: an employer that employs 5 people or more has to offer a Stakeholder pension to its staff. James will look into this.
Additional staff & Emergency helpers: recruitment for additional staff and emergency helpers that are police checked. Advert to be placed into the August edition of the Parish magazine.
SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) & Foundation Stage: Jayne currently holds this and will need to be transferred over to someone else. Tracy has done this in the past but she has many other responsibilities at the moment, it may be better to hand this over to Jo Cottell.
Post Office: it was agreed that we should contact the post office so that any letters addressed to ‘Tiggers’ should be directed to James Peck, as at the moment they are going to Jayne.
Sponsored Walk Money: reminder to be placed in the Parish Magazine for parents to hand the money in.
Shed floor: this is rotten and needs replacing
Planning sessions: these should take place once every half term and the additional time is paid for. However, it was noted that not everyone turns up for these meetings. Include in contract that these meetings are part of the job.
Parent sessions: discussed introducing parent sessions so that the parents can discuss the progress of their child
Staffing issues:
Julie Turner: there have been some concerns over the performance and attitude of Julie. These cover punctuality, leaving children unattended, personal phone calls and appointments during working hours. Tracy has raised these concerns with Julie herself but the situation has not improved. Caroline and Tracy to discuss the issue with Julie before the beginning of next term.
Mandy Skinner: it was brought to the attention of the Committee that Mandy was involved in a physical assault situation outside the local school and she has a criminal conviction pending. The Committee discussed the implications of this with regards to her continued employment at Tiggers. It was agreed that the matter should be discussed with Ofsted and the Playgroup mentor, Linda Gotley.
