NEIGHBOURHOOD PANELS
There are some exciting opportunities in the Mid Sussex area with the development of local neighbourhood panels to help improve communication with the public, address local issues and deliver a safer area in which to live and work.
So how does it work?
The aim of the panels is to assist the Neighbourhood team with setting a minimum of three priorities per neighbourhood and this will come from local knowledge (e.g. Cars racing around an estate and causing noise) as well as incident and crime data from the Police. The priorities will be set by the panel and not the Police and will be shared with the public via the PCSO Blogs on the Sussex Police web site – www.sussex.police.uk
The role of the panel will be to discuss and decide how best to resolve identified issues, becoming directly involved only where required. Subsequent meetings will provide an opportunity to provide feedback. The panel will meet approximately every ten weeks and will be made up of a cross section of people who live and work in the area.
We are currently looking for 10 people who live or work in any of the following areas to be part of the panel:
Cuckfield, Ansty, Balcombe, Staplefield, Handcross & Pease Pottage.
If you are interested or know someone who might be, please contact me with you name, address and telephone number.
