ATTEMPTED THEFT OF FUEL FROM STORAGE - HAYWARDS HEATH
Police were called to the Princess Royal Hospital, shortly before
midnight on Wednesday 20 January following a report of a suspicious
vehicle (a red Ford Transit) in a car park.
When Police arrived, it was established that the vehicle had been
trying to siphon fuel from storage tanks at the location.
The Transit has been recovered for forensic analysis and Police
are urging anyone with fuel storage tanks on their property to remain
vigilant.
WSFB also attended the scene to deal with the overflow of fuel.
Three youths were spotted leaving the scene. The first man is
described as 6 tall, of broad muscular build, and wearing
a light jacket and dark jeans. The second man is thought to be aged
20-30 years, of medium build with dark hair, and wearing a grey
jacket and jeans. The third man was wearing a grey top (like a puffa
jacket) and grey trousers.
Anyone with information relating to this incident, or who may
have seen the three men or the red Ford Transit in the area at the
time are asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting
serial 1752 of January 20, or Crimstoppers anonymously on 0800 555
