ATTEMPTED THEFT OF FUEL FROM STORAGE - HAYWARDS HEATH

Police were called to the Princess Royal Hospital, shortly before midnight on Wednesday 20 January following a report of a suspicious vehicle (a red Ford Transit) in a car park.

When Police arrived, it was established that the vehicle had been trying to siphon fuel from storage tanks at the location.

The Transit has been recovered for forensic analysis and Police are urging anyone with fuel storage tanks on their property to remain vigilant.

WSFB also attended the scene to deal with the overflow of fuel.

Three youths were spotted leaving the scene. The first man is described as 6’ tall, of broad muscular build, and wearing a light jacket and dark jeans. The second man is thought to be aged 20-30 years, of medium build with dark hair, and wearing a grey jacket and jeans. The third man was wearing a grey top (like a puffa jacket) and grey trousers.

Anyone with information relating to this incident, or who may have seen the three men or the red Ford Transit in the area at the time are asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting serial 1752 of January 20, or Crimstoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
