MONDAY 26TH JANUARY 2004 AT 7.30 PM IN THE WI ROOM,
BALCOMBE VICTORY HALL
Present: Mr Graham Gosney (Chairman), Mr Gary Marsh
(arrived 7.40 pm), Mr Roland Burke, Mr David Miners, Mr George Wiginton, Mrs
Sheila Illsley, Mrs Alison Stevenson, Mr Richard Greig (Clerk).
Mrs Katherine Gunning, Messrs. Robin
Williamson, Neil Infield, & Simon Greenwood.
None declared.
There were minor
doubts about the actual availability of the £40k allocated for the work during
the next financial year, but it was thought that these would be resolved
without any concern.
For the meeting MSDC
staff would attend and detailed drawings would be available, as well as a slide
show presentation. There would be two
proposals, A & B for the lower area backing on to Bramble Mead, and two, C
& D for the area adjoining the pavilion.
Because of residents concern Plan B, which set the top part further
into the rec, thus requiring some excavation, was possibly the most non
controversial. There were no immediate preferences about the proposals for the
upper area (Plans C & D), as this work was likely to carried out a later
stage. However it was agreed that we
needed to involve the Royal British Legion in our negotiations.
Arrangements for the
Parish Room Consultation Meeting were finalised, how things were to be laid out
and materials needed. Mr Wiginton was
again thanked for his considerable efforts in co-ordinating the whole project.
1166 Consideration of the following
Planning Applications
i) BA/03/03151/FUL Cobbles, Oldlands Avenue First
Floor Extension over existing Study. No
objections voiced. The proposed
extension would be small, with pleasant detailing and no property would be
adversely affected.
ii).To consider any other applications received prior
to the meeting. BA/04/00107/FUL - Studlands, Stockcroft Road Demolition of
existing garage & erect ion of a two-storey side extension, single storey
rear extension. Alteration to utility
room front wall. Move driveway. It was considered that the single storey
rear extension would enhance the rear elevation. Some concern expressed about the two-storey extension, which
although well balanced, would extend to a metre of the southern boundary making
the house two storey to each of the south/north extremes of the plot. The Council would prefer wherever possible
that larger gaps be maintained between properties.
