Balcombe Village Market

Glenda Thomson runs fairs for the sale of crafts, gifts and local produce. For example, Cuckfield Fair, Uckfield, Chellwood Gate, schools, Women's Institute, Plumpton Agricultural College (farmer's market), Ashdown fete.

She is now planning a regular village market on Saturday mornings in the Victory Hall. Stalls will be available for hire for £18. One stall will be provided free for a charity. Stalls outside are free, but a donation to charity is expected.

2008 Market Days

The first market day was a great success. £240 was raised for The Children's Trust. Notable donations were from Alison Fielder, who is a chef working for the Trust; she donated all profits from the excellent refreshments stall. Also thanks to Selsey Seafood for their donation. Thanks to Starbucks at Haywards Heath for their donation of the hamper raffle prize; they will continue to support the charities at the market.

Laines provided a stall for organic vegetables and strawberries. £144 was raised for the RNLI

30th August 2008

£131.35 was raised for the charity Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy. Read this letter of thanks from Veral Lynn.

£165.20 was raised for the charity St Catherine's Hospice

25th October 2008

£230 was raised for Breast Cancer Care. £62 of this was from the sale of speciality breads from Fellowes bakery in Ardingly.

The sponsored charity was Kate's Trust.
